Supporting Someone In Distress

We might notice changes in people around us and get the feeling that “something is not quite right”. You may not want to say anything for fear of making the situation worse or because you don’t know what to say, especially if they confirm your concerns.

By talking to the person and finding out what is going on for them, you can help them to talk to others and get the help they may need.

Training can build confidence and skills

Training in suicide prevention gives you the knowledge and skills to identify those who are at risk of suicide.  It can give you the confidence to talk to them about suicidal thoughts, provide them with immediate support, and connect them with professional care.

Here is a range of training available, some are free.
