Towards Zero Suicides

Initiatives

Towards Zero Suicides is an $87 million investment over three years in new suicide prevention initiatives that address priorities in the Strategic Framework for Suicide Prevention in NSW 2018-23, and contribute to the Premier’s Priority to reduce the suicide rate by 20 per cent by 2023.

Safe Haven

Toward Zero Suicides Initiative, Safe Haven is a non-clinical place you can go if you’re feeling distressed or having suicidal thoughts. It is a safe place to talk openly about how you are feeling and what you’re going through.

There, you can have a yarn and talk with a peer-support worker who has their own lived experience of mental distress and suicide. If you don’t feel like chatting, you can spend time in a quiet space and listen to music. You choose what is right for you.

It’s free. No appointment or Medicare required.
